　「永遠の命」について考える人はどれほどいるでしょうか？
　How many people actually seriously think about eternal life?

　ご飯を食べ、高千穂牧場まで出かける前に、教会に集まって、聖書が『永遠の命』についてなんと言っているのかを聞きました。るみこさんが話してくださいました。　とっても分かりやすくて、考えさせられました。
　ありがとうございます。
Before we ate lunch and headed off towards Takachiho Farm, we met at the church and heard from Rumikosan about what the Bible says concerning eternal life. I thought it was very simple and easy to understand and made me think. Thank you so much.

　聖書のこんな言葉まで出ました。 These two verses came up in the talk.
　「神は実にそのひとりご[イエス様]をお与えになったほどに世を愛された。それは御子[イエス様]を信じる者がひとりとして滅びることなく、永遠の命をえるためである。」　ヨハネ　３の１６
"For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son[Jesus], that whoever believes in Him[Jesus] should have everlasting life."

　「罪からくる報酬は死です。しかし、神のくださる賜物は私たちの主キリストイエスによる永遠の命なのです。」　ローマ６の２３
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23

終わってから、霧島にあるさくらさくらでおいしいバイキングを食べました。
　次に、高千穂牧場に向かって出発しました。
　ついたら牛や羊、ヤギまで待っていました。　羊は一生懸命草を食べていました。　＾＾
Afterwards, we ate at an all-you-can-eat(SakuraSakura) restaurant. After this, we drove towards Takachiho Farm. When we got there, the cows, sheep and goats were waiting for us. The sheep kept nibbling on the grass almost the whole time we were there.
　
　
　天気がどうなるかは分からなかったけど、とっても良い天気になったことを神様に感謝！
We weren't sure about the weather at first, but we're thankful to God that it became a beautiful day. (^^)/

5月の暗唱聖句

毎月、新しい聖書の言葉を覚えようとしています。　（＾＾）
今月の暗唱聖句は詩篇５５の２からです。

「あなたの重荷を主にゆだねよ。
　主は、あなたのことを心配してくださる。
　主は決して、正しい者がゆるがされるようにはなさらない。」

Every month we try to memorize a new verse. This month's verse is found in Psalms 55:22.
"Cast your burden on the LORD, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved."

基礎解釈学

４月２７日～２９日　『聖書を正しく理解しよう！』

「聖書はすべて、神の霊感によるもので、教えと戒めと矯正と儀の訓練とのために有益です。それは、神の人が、すべての良い働きのためにふさわしい十分に整えられた者となるためです。」　聖書：ＩＩテモテ３の１６－１７
"All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work."

土曜日から月曜日にかけて、
浜寺聖書学院から岡田先生が基礎解釈学について教えてくださいました。
From Saturday to Monday, Okada Sensei came to teach us about basic Biblical Hermeneutics.
何時間も座って、聖書をどのようにして正しく読んでいけばいいのかを学びました。
While sitting for many hours, we learned how to correctly read the Bible.

聖書を読むときに、こういう質問を用いるといいです。
It's good to ask these sorts of questions while reading...
"When?" "Where?" "Who?" "What?" "Why?" "How come?/In what way?"
「いつ？」　「どこ？」　「誰？」　「何？」　「なぜ？」　「なんのために？」

また、文脈の流れを見るのも大事だということを学びました。
文学的な文脈もあれば、歴史的文脈や文化的、地理的文脈もあることを覚えながら読むことも学びました。
We also learned to pay special attention to the literal, cultural, historical, and geographical contexts.
読みながら命令や模範、宣言や罪、原則に目をとめることも学びました。
Also, while reading, we should pay attention to commands, examples, declarations, sins, and fundamental principles.

これからもっと深く聖書を学んでいきたいと思いました。
先生、ありがとうございました。
I think most of us were pretty excited to start reading our Bibles again after this class.

復活際

３月３１日 March 31st

今日は、イエス様が死からよみがえったことを覚え、さえずりの森で礼拝しました。
沢山の方が来てくださいました。（＾＾）ありがとうございます。
Today we remembered Jesus' resurrection from the dead by celebrating at Saezuri no Mori. Thank you to all the people who came.

賛美の歌や特別賛美、聖書からの話、子どもたちのための聖書の話や卵・おかし・チョコ探しもありました。
Not only were there songs of praise to Him, special music, and a talk from the Bible, but also a gospel message for kids and an egg/candy/chocolate hunt. 　

教会の人たちが作ってくださったブランチを食べたあと、草スキーをしました。
After eating a brunch put together by various members of the church, we rushed down to a large, grassy hill with sleds and cardboard.

「イエスは言われた。『わたしは、よみがえりです。いのちです。わたしを信じる者は、死んでも生きるのです。』」　　ヨハネ１１：２５
"Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live.'"

Cooking クッキング

ごぶさたしておりました。　It's been quite a while.

３月２３日に生望教会で料理教室が行われました。
On the 23rd of March, a cooking class was held at the church.

私自身は遅れてきちゃったのですが、残りの時間はとっても楽しく、おいしいひと時となりました。

I got there a bit late, but I enjoyed the remaining time, cooking and eating.

There's possibly another cooking class next month as well.

静かな訪れ。。。A Quiet Visitor

２月１３日

今日は水曜日。 Today is Wednesday.
朝はレディースの聖書の学び会がある。 In the morning, a women's Bible study is held.
夜は何人かで集まって祈ります。 At night, some gather to pray.

でも、誰もいないときに、娘を連れてやってくる一人の方。
誰でしょう？
But who is this one who comes today, when no one is around?
あることに気がついて、直してくれました。
本当にありがとうございました。
She has noticed something and fixed it. Thank you so much.

いろんな人がいろんな方法で教会を愛してくださっています。
ありがとう。（＾＾）・
Thank you for all of those who love the church in many different ways. 　
イエス様の言葉を思い出しました。
「人の子[イエス様]が来たのも、仕えられるためではなく、かえって仕えるためであり、また、多くの人のための、贖いの代価として、自分のいのちをあたえるためなのです。」　マルコ１０：４５
I was reminded of one of the things Jesus said: "For even the Son of Man[Jesus] did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."

また、一年後。。。 We'll miss you!

２月３日

今日は、ビルさんとベキさんがアメリカへ旅立つ日でした。
しばらくはビルさんの聖書からの話は聴けません。(i_i)
It's a bit sad to say, today is the last day(for a while) that Bill and Becky Petite will be with us.
We won't be able to hear Bill's sermons for a while--unless you're in America. . .

特別賛美もありがとうございました！
Thank you for the special music.

The Petites received a gift of pictures from throughout the year of those in the church.

インフルエンザファミリー多胡家に最後の挨拶。
ベランダから見送ってくださいました。(早く直ってください。）
The Tago Flu Family said their farewells from their veranda.

空港に向かう道は何の代わりもないかのように、「まだ実感がない。」とくちにしていたら。。。
"It still doesn't really feel like we're leaving." As though it were another normal day. . .

空港について、沢山の方々が見送りにきてくださっていました。
Loads of people were waiting for them at the airport.

皆が集まって、「さようなら。」「またね。」「一年は短い！早く帰っておいで。」とか言いますけど。。。
やっぱりさびしいです。　多くの人は、沢山の愛をビルさん、ベキさんからもらっている気がしました。
実は、私も。　へへへ（＾＾）
As bunches of people crowded around to say their last goodbyes, one could hear, "See you again," or "good-bye," or "One year isn't so long. Hurry up and come back!" But. . . we're actually quite sad to see them leaving. So many people have received much love from the Petites. Me, too. . .

ビルさん、ベキさん、ありがとう。
大好きです。

隼人バプテスト教会や、坂之上バプテスト教会や、都城クリスチャンセンターからや、ビルさんベキさんの英会話の生徒たちも沢山来ていました。皆さん、ありがとうございました。

１月３０日

水曜日に集まって、聖書を学ぶレディース会たちがベキさんとのお別れ会を開きました。
今日は、とても素敵な霧島の華耀亭に行ってきました。
Today was the goodbye party for the Wednesday Ladies' Bible Study Group.
We went to the gorgeous Kayotei, in Kirishima.

ベキさんは聖書を開き、しばらく会わないので伝えたいことを話してくれました。
本当に長い間、聖書の学びをリードしてくださってありがとうございました。
Becky opened the Bible and talked a bit about what she really wanted to say before she left Japan.
Thank you so much for teaching from the Word.
We will miss you!!!!

華耀亭にいけるように助けてくださった方も(you know who you are)、感謝します。
Thank you to a special person who helped in us being able to go to such a wonderful place.

お風呂上り。

本当に素敵なひと時でした。

またバプテスマ式！ 感謝 Another Baptism(or Two)

１月２７日

今日は二人がバプテスマを受けました。（＾＾）
本当におめでとうございます。
Two were baptized today. Congratulations!
Praise the Lord.

「せんれい」とか「バプテスマ」とかいいますけど、「それは何？」と思う人がいっぱいいると思います。
これによって人は救われたり、天国いけたり、神様の子どもにはなりません。　イエス様が自分の罪の代わりに死んで、よみがえった事を信じることによって清い、生きてる神との関係が始まります。「バプテスマ」と言うのは「イエス様を信じました！」と公に人前で宣言することです。

Now, there are many who might be wondering, "What's baptism?" First off, people are not saved through baptism. Neither do they go to heaven because of it, or become God's child. One starts a relationship with a living, righteous God by believing that Jesus the Christ died for the penalty of his/her sins and rose again. "Baptism" refers to a public act that tells everyone "I believed in Jesus!"

二人とも、自分がどうやってイエス様を信じるようになったのかを話してくれました。
今日は、特別賛美が二つもありました。
ありがとうございました。
優心君がインフルエンザだったので、隣のベランダからバプテスマ式を眺めていました。
Both spoke of how they came to believe in Jesus Christ as their Savior from sin.
Thank you for the special music, as well.
Yuushin had the flu, so he watched the baptism from the veranda next to the church.


バプテスマ式が終わってから、レディース会の証会がありました。
去年の一年間に、神様がしてくださったことや、どのように神様が自分の心の中に働きかけたことや、神様が示してくださった罪、聖書の言葉も話しました。
皆さん、これからも神様を仰ぎ、ついて行きましょう。

After the baptism, ladies gathered for a testimony time.
We shared God's goodness over the past year, how He revealed our sin to us, how He worked in our hearts, how He gave us specific verses from His Word at the right time.
Ladies, let's continue to turn our hearts toward Him and follow Him. (^_^)/

ビルさん、ベキさん、さようなら。

１月２１日

またまためでたい日でした。　２０１３年はすごい！神様はすごい！
What another awesome day! Two thousand thirteen is amazing!　Actually, God is amazing!

しょうごさんが自分がどうやってイエス様を信じるようになったかを話してくれました。
そして、バプテスマを受けました。バプテスマによって、誰も罪からの救いをえたり、天国に行けたり、クリスチャンにはなりません。ただ、イエス・キリストが、自分の罪の罰の代わりに十字架にかかって、死んでよみがえってくださったことを信じることです。
Shogo explained how he came to believe in Jesus Christ. Then he was baptized. No one receives forgiveness from sin through baptism; neither can one enter heaven because they have been baptized. No one becomes a believer because he/she was baptized. By believing that Jesus Christ died on the cross, taking on himself all your sins' punishment, and that He rose again, is how one becomes a Christian.

バプテスマは、皆の前で、『イエス様を信じました！これからもイエス様に従っていきたいです!』と宣言することです。Baptism is how one publicly declares their faith and devotion to Jesus Christ.

「あなたがたは恵みのゆえに、信仰によって救われたのです。それは、自分自身から出たことではなく、神からの賜物です。行いによるのではありません。だれも誇ることのないためです。」　エペソ　２：８－９
"For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast." Ephesians 2:8-9

終わってから、ビルさんとベキさんのためのびっくり送別会をしました。
教会の皆さんがおいしい食べ物を作ってきてくださって、教会の色んな写真を見ながらご飯を食べました。
Afterwards, we held a surprise going away party for Bill and Becky Petite. People from the church brought delicious food; we ate as we watched different pictures of the church from over the past few years.

教会の沢山の人たちからの特別賛美や、メッセージ、遠いところにすんでる方とのスカイプや、花束も用意されていました。
ビルさんとベキさん、長い間、姶良にとどまり、主のための愛の働きを心から感謝します。「無駄でない。」
アメリカに行ってしまうのはさびしいけど、また帰ってくるのを楽しみに待っています。（i_i)
Many sang special music or gave a little speech. Bill and Becky were even able to skype with some people who live far away but were also from Living Hope. Thank you so much for staying in Aira, for your labor of love in the Lord. We're sad to see you go, but are waiting eagerly for the day of your return.

Thank you for all those who helped the going away party to go smoothly.
送別会がスムーズに動くように働いてくれた人たち、ありがとうございました。（＾＾）
夜の英語礼拝は最後の日曜日でした。
沢山の人たちが来てくださって、ここでも送別会をしました。
Thank you so much for all the people who came tonight to the international English service and also for those who helped with the goodbye party here, too. To God be the glory, really.
